Our little church cum chapel near the cemetery was busy last week for the funeral service for Mr Bernard A. Cockshutt, an early resident of Kettering and then Snug. For many years he was employed at the Electrona works. Mr Cockshutt was buried near his wife who died 12 years ago.
For present day Kettering residents there will be a Community Service on Sunday, June 30th commencing 9.30am.
All are invited to come along. Folk of any connection or none are most welcome to an interesting ecumenical gathering and shared morning tea. Singers in particular are welcome as we sing well-known songs and hymns, hear readings of hope and challenge, and pray for our troubled world.
The speaker for the occasion will be Ms Lindy O’Neill, FAICD, FAIM, CEO of Uniting Care Tasmania and CEO of Cerebral Palsy Tasmania.
