Last week we reported that locals were lobbying for improvements to be made to the public toilets at the Bruny Island Ferry Terminal.  Today the following letter appeared in the Kingborough Chronicle.

The upgrade of toilet facilities servicing users of the Bruny Island Ferry have recently been the topic of notable public concern (Kingborough Chronicle, February 4, 2014 page 1).

Given the busy nature of both terminals, we believe that the toilets need to be suitable to accommodate the thousands of tourists and locals that travel back and forth on the Ferry each year. If fortunate enough to be elected in a few weeks’ time, the Liberals will ensure that the toilets are suitable for those that need them.

As well as the works already underway in the area to accommodate the growing use of the Ferry, we will also consider what upgrades may be needed for public amenity. We believe that the infrastructure associated with the Bruny Island Ferry is critically important for the local community and we will always stand up and ensure that both tourists and the community’s needs are accommodated into the future.
