Last Friday, Paul and Belinda Sangha closed up shop at the Kettering Central General Store for the last time after a 7 year stint.

They are are off to warmer climes (on the “mainland”) to do a little farming.

Congratulations to Kettering Community Association’s Treasurer, Sue Hoyle, who has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the 2013 Australia Day Honours.  The award recognises Sue’s work as volunteer secretary/treasurer of Ostomy Tasmania.  Read more (and see the pic) in The Mercury.

Another successful working bee, held yesterday morning, saw the completion of upgrades to the Kettering Point Walking Track.

Kettering Community Association committee member and  project organiser, Eric Baldwin, was delighted with the outcome and said:

To all the members and non-member who assisted in the final laying of gravel1 to the Kettering Point Walk a GREAT BIG VOTE OF THANKS. Again at record speed, a little over 12 tonnes of gravel transported, raked, and wacker packed in around three-and-a-half hours. Well done!
Jess2 and I walked the track last night and I think it is as good as it gets – so again thank you from us all who use it.
